microneedling, dermapen, Dr. Dhai Barr's treatment room overlooking the Willamette River

At ORM, we have been utilizing platelet rich plasma (PRP) to perform nonsurgical face-lifts, a.k.a. “Dracula Facelift”, since 2009. We have added collagen induction therapy or CIT to add more benefit to PRP facelifts. In This procedure we use the latest German-made EXCEED micro-needling device to create small microscopic channels in the epidermal skin layer. Micro-needling itself induces your skin to produce more collagen and elastin, resulting in tightened and firmer skin. The EXCEED is the ONLY microneedling device FDA cleared for acne scarring, as well as, fine lines and wrinkles. By adding the PRP to this procedure the results are enhanced, as PRP provides concentrated growth factors to stimulate skin repair and encourage the healing response. With this method, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, acne scars are improved, the skin is tighter, and stretch marks disappear.

The Exceed uses a European CIT technique consistent with new evidence based scientific data showing that other CIT devices cause fraying of wounds, which triggers the wrong type of collagen needed to break up scar tissue and fight anti-aging. The Exceed uses surgical grade needles and a tilted needle plate to create a clean, medical grade wound without any excessive damage to the epidermis or added inflammation. It’s extremely fast, less painful, “library” quiet and results in up to 50% less downtime for our patients and enhanced results. In fact, 100% of case studied patients saw visible results with just one treatment.  The EXCEED stamps small 1mm channels into the epidermal skin layer. We then use a variety of serums that are tailored to your particular concern and, when needed, PRP is stamped into the skin to induce even more collagen induction. PRP is especially useful in eradicating acne scars. With the EXCEED, there is no damage done to the dermis so there is no downtime, and patients get all the results of a laser or fraxel treatment at a fraction of the cost!

The procedure takes about an hour and has very minimal if any pain. Please call our office with any questions or to schedule a consultation.
